African Union Communications (Pty) Ltd (AUCOM) specializes in the supply, integration and support of telecommunication & digital multimedia platforms on the African market. We are committed to providing our customers with the most cost-effective and efficient systems available, as well as with the required local support for these systems. We work closely together with our main partners to facilitate financing and to design, integrate, install, commission and maintain the systems, providing supervision and monitoring services as per customer specifications.
About African Union Communications (Pty) Ltd
The company successfully provided complete Multi-Channel Digital Free-to-Air and Pay TV Head-End Systems to customers including Sentech, MultiChoice, MultiChoice Africa, GoTV Africa, NBC, RTD, TV Cabo, IDT Ivory Coast, Canal+ Africa DTT and other operators in Africa. Our services incorporated design, integration, installing, support and maintenance of these systems.
Additional maintenance and support services for these existing customers are provided by AUCOM and AUCOM SA, with full back-up support from our International Suppliers.
Several of these customers have entered into agreements with AUCOM and AUCOM SA for the supervision and monitoring services of their Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) rollouts, enabling the customers to have skilled engineers monitoring and analyzing the head end equipment and nationwide network sites with the DataMiner Network Monitoring Systems as a Managed Service provided by AUCOM.
Partnership with Skyline Communications
Aucom actively promotes Skyline's DataMiner Network Management System in conjunction with the Skyline sales force to our customers. We assist with the design and consultation for the monitoring services, maintaining and optimizing the customers operations.
We have a designated team that installs, tests and commissions the DataMiner Network Management System and provides technical and operational training. In addition, we offer our customers add-on functions, such as the DataMiner Ticketing Software.
Once installed, we offer support and maintenance services on the DataMiner system allowing the customers to have direct access to specialized skills, to keep the television broadcasting platform and infrastructure stable and on air.
Initiatives
Aucom and DataMiner have attended several conferences together, such as AfriCom, MediaTech and IBC, and annually we have a Customer/AUCOM/Partner event where customers can interact directly with all our key Technology Partners.
Projects & References
We implemented DataMiner to monitor and control the network infrastructure, from the Head End to the Transmitter sites for several customers. Our proposed DataMiner solutions are provided with a complete set of necessary drivers to seamlessly integrate with all equipment with monitorable interfaces. It also provides a feature environment for future expansion into the client’s network as and when required.
