Best way to implement a “prompt sentinel” (PS1) in a DataMiner SSH connector?

Hi Dojo,

I’m using an interactive SSH session. Plan is to set a unique prompt (e.g., PS1="__DM__ ") and parse output with LengthType=next param + Trailer matching that prompt.

What’s the recommended minimal wiring in Protocol XML?

  • Which Action should run the “set PS1” Pair once (e.g., execute one now on a Group)?

  • Which Trigger should fire it—On init or On connection opened (for the SSH connection)—or both?

  • For responses that use next param + trailer, do I need a Read Action with a “Time=before” Trigger on the Response, or is there a simpler/better pattern?

  • Any gotchas with shells/login scripts that might overwrite PS1?

  • Additional question for hex values, is only one hex value possible for a parameter?
