A look back at our first Open Training reunion: sharing, learning, and growing together

When we first launched our Open Training sessions, our goal was more than just delivering hands-on knowledge. We wanted to build something lasting—a community of DataMiner users who continue learning from each other long after the sessions are over.

That vision came to life in June with our first Open Training reunion, held in a lean coffee format. It was a space for past participants to reconnect, share what they've implemented since the training, and exchange stories and insights with others on the same journey.

What the reunion was all about

We kept it simple. There were no presentations, no slides—just real conversations led by the participants themselves. Everyone had a chance to:

  • Reconnect with fellow Open Training alumni, share their experiences, and explore peer-to-peer ideas.
  • Share their story on what they’ve done with what they learned.
  • Engage in peer-to-peer dialogue and draw inspiration from others.

One of the key takeaways? Every single person in the room brought something valuable, whether it was a use case, a technical question, or a new perspective.

What participants said

After the session, we gathered feedback, and the response was overwhelmingly positive:

  • Clarity: “The goal of the reunion was clearly defined.”
  • Engagement: “The Q&A and open discussion really worked.”
  • Inclusion: “I felt engaged and included during the session.”
  • Relevance: “The topics covered were relevant to my role.”
  • Usefulness: “The content provided actionable insights.”

As one participant put it:

“The ability to drive the topics of conversation ourselves made the session feel very natural and valuable.”

Another shared:

“All participants were engaging and proactively shared their thoughts.”

Why this format works

What made this reunion unique wasn’t the format—it was the people in the (virtual) room. Everyone had gone through the same foundational training, but each brought their own experience, challenges, and success stories.

And that’s where the real learning happens.

The reunion reminded us that learning doesn’t stop when a training ends. It continues when people come together to reflect, share, and exchange ideas. That’s exactly what the DataMiner Community is all about: creating meaningful moments of connection that lead to deeper learning and better outcomes.
