Dear Skyline Community,
Does the new Usage Based Model work with Dataminer Self Hosted systems using DMPs on remote sites?
Hi Alex,
DataMiner Probes (DMPs) are only available as perpetual use licenses. Because they are often used to connect to remote sites with limited connectivity, metering could be a challenge.
However, note that DMPs are not clustered with your DMS. This means you can run your DMS on a subscription (self- or skyline-hosted) and use perpetual-licensed DMPs to bring data from those remote locations.
It's a very good question - we'll update our docs!
Hi Jorge,
According to the documentation, the answer is yes, the DataMiner usage-based service models (Subscription Plan and Pay-per-Use Plan) are also vailable for private/self-hosted deployments of DataMiner (on the ground, in a private cloud, or hybrid).
Thank you Bruno for the complete answer and clear explanation.
Good to know that the documentation will be updated.
