Newtec Dialog Time Series Database
ST Engineering
The Newtec Dialog Time Series Database driver has the ability to monitor the Newtec Dialog Satellite Communications Platform by collecting the metrics stored in a Time Series Database.
USE CASE DETAILS
A list of configured Time Series Database Enclosures are periodically queried to obtain such metrics.
The results from the Database queries are used to create two different types of DVEs, representing the different network instances in the system. The metrics contained within each DVE can be used to prevent and/or detect various issues, from link budget issues caused by equipment or external issues, to system overbooking due to insufficient network design. These instances are the terminal remote modems, the network forward link (from the core hub system to the terminals), and the network return link (terminal to core hub).
The remote modem DVEs provide several modem specific metrics such as operational status, return and forward data throughputs, carrier pool congestion detection, or transmission power measures.
These DVEs also monitor mobility and beam switching information.
The network DVEs display Satnet specific metrics such as link occupation, received/sent bitrates and network capacity groups and pools statistics.
