Encoder Manager – channel input switching on multi-model encoders
OTT
This use case demonstrates how DataMiner can be used to facilitate channel input switching across different encoder models. With just one click, a management element is able to abstract and group all channels spread across different encoders, allowing you to switch the inputs of these channels in a simple and fast way.
What makes this solution so special is that, besides the channels being spread out, each encoder model has its own way of switching the channel input, which can be a problem, especially in emergency situations. However, with the Encoder Manager, this process can be completed in a matter of seconds, without the need to manually identify the correct encoder.
USE CASE DETAILS
This page allows you to configure which encoders will be included in the management. The Encoder Manager has been set up to work with three different encoder models: Elemental Conductor, Ateme Titan Live, and Harmonic VOS. When adding a new element from any of these models, the manager automatically reads the channels of that encoder, and it is already prepared to be managed.
This page displays a list of all channels distributed across different encoders, showing which inputs are active and the available number of inputs for each channel.
This panel displays all available channels and allows you, in a simple way, with just one click, to switch between the different inputs of the channel.
Instead of just switching inputs of individual services (channels), this interface allows you to switch the inputs of a group of channels with a single click; in this case, a group consisting of 16 channels.
